I'd like to suggest an interesting resource for JBPM programmers I've found on the JBoss site.......

jPDL: Simplified Workflow for Java.

This powerpoint slides may be helpful to understand the basic concepts around JPDL. It has been edited by Tom Baeyes the creator of JBPM. Basic concepts of jPDL like Task, Action Handlers and Expression Languages are well synthesized here.
